Year end letter from Mr. Rusch - June 21, 2021

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

As we close out the 2020-2021 school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all members of our school community- students, staff and parents for your efforts during this unprecedented year. There have been many obstacles, but there is also a great deal to be proud of.

There are many aspects of school life that have been impacted, including academic, social and extracurricular activities. Our #ocsbHope remains to have a full return to all programs in September. We will continue to adhere to the parameters set out by the Board, the Province and Ottawa Public Health.

Next September, we welcome back Mrs. Hignell and Mme. Handrigan back from maternity leave. This time of year we unfortunately also say good-bye to educators, students and families. Please join me in thanking these educators for their time, effort and dedication to our school. Good luck to Mlle. Horth, Mr. Callahan, Mrs. Hurd, Ms. Oria, Mrs. Niedopytalski, Ms. Dagenais, Ms. Way, Ms. Kuiack and Ms. Dipelino next year at their new schools. The last day of school is this Monday, June 21st. Schools will be closed from June 28th - August 27th. However in these exceptional circumstances, if your family needs emergency support please reach out via the school email. We will be checking it every few days or so.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for the first day of school on Tuesday September 7th!

Wishing you a safe, healthy and happy summer!

Stay strong Shamrocks!

God Bless!

Greg Rusch
Principal

Student belonging pick-up and Chromebook drop off

In order to allow staff an opportunity to wish each of their students a wonderful summer and provide them an opportunity to congratulate them for all of their work this year, students are invited to come to the school on Tuesday June 22nd. This is an opportunity for students to pick up their personal items and return borrowed technology, etc. We will have an area set-up at the front of the school to drop off borrowed Chromebooks, pick up personal belongings and get their class picture. Please see the schedule below for your child’s time to visit the school to come. If your scheduled day/time does not work for you, please email the school at Patrick@ocsb.ca, and we will make alternate arrangements for picking up belongings and dropping off Chromebooks that you have borrowed. If you have more than one child, please choose the time that is most convenient for you.

Please note that students, parents and guardians will unfortunately not be permitted to enter our school.
